Today was another cold day relative to climatology. Highs today
ranged from 51 degrees at Elkhart to 64 degrees at Hays.
Considering the normal high for this time of year is in the upper
70s, this is quite cold for mid May. There were some showers and
thunderstorms earlier in the day with 24 hour precipitation amounts
ranging from 0.48" at Medicine Lodge to only 0.03" at Garden City.

For tonight, the sky will continue to clear. High pressure will
prevail across the forecast district. Another chilly night with
a low of 40 degrees is expected across west central Kansas to mid
40s across south central Kansas. For tomorrow, highs will range
from the mid to upper 60s across central Kansas to the upper 50s
across far southwest Kansas. There is only a slight chance of a
shower across far southwest Kansas near Elkhart and Liberal.
