Regional Weather Summary for Western Kansas
National Weather Service Dodge City KS
823 PM CDT THU SEP 22 2016 /723 PM MDT THU SEP 22 2016/

It was a warm, sunny, and windy day as many locations reached
into the lower to mid 90s for highs. Southerly winds at the
surface combined with southwest winds aloft continued to bring in
the warmer than normal temperatures.

It looks to be another dry night for the region. A small batch of
thunderstorms in northwest Kansas will fall apart as we approach
midnight. It should be another warm day tomorrow and winds will
pick back up in the order of 20-30 mph with gusts to near 40 by
afternoon. An upper level low will be continuing to move into
Colorado and an approaching cold front from the west will lead to
some thunderstorm development by tomorrow evening. There is a
marginal risk for severe storms for western Kansas tomorrow night
but at this point the severe threat looks to be minimal with a
stronger storm or two possible.

Lows tonight will generally be in the mid 60s. Highs tomorrow
will reach into the lower 90s.
