Today:

Cloud cover has slowly shifted southeast across the area overnight,
allowing for clear skies across parts of northwest Iowa. In this area
temperatures have plummeted, dipping into the teens by 4 AM. Further
south and east where cloud cover remains temperatures were still in
the upper 20s and low 30s. Winds have also remained breezy through the
overnight, out of the west northwest at 10 to 15 mph with occasional
gusts over 20 mph.

This afternoon will see increasing sunshine, however temperatures
will remain cool. Highs this afternoon will struggle to reach 30
degrees in northern Iowa while central to southern Iowa will see
temperatures warm into the low 40s.

Tonight and beyond:

Expect a quiet night coming up with winds diminishing and temperatures
cooling into the teens and 20s once again. By Thursday warm air
begins to push into the area with low 60s reaching into southern
Iowa. This will expand across much of the state by Friday. A few
showers will be possible Friday afternoon and into the evening.
Temperatures remain in the 40s and 50s through the weekend with
precipitation chances increasing by Sunday.
