Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
229 PM CDT Thu May 9 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will be possible into this
evening. Dry weather is expected over most of the area on Friday, though
isolated showers are possible Friday evening over central IL mainly from
I-74 north. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will arrive
over central IL overnight Sunday night and Monday morning, and be likely
across the area Monday afternoon into Monday night. Fair to poor ventilation
rates will occur rest of today, except good vent rates from Springfield to
Terre Haute south. Good vent rates are expected across the area Friday
with very good vent rates on Saturday as northwest winds and mixing heights
increase late this week.
