Flood Statement
National Weather Service Reno NV
611 PM PDT Wed Jun 28 2017

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Nevada...

Walker River Near Mason affecting Lyon County

Increased releases from Bridgeport Reservoir will lead to moderate
flooding or greater along the East Walker River. Flows have decreased
somewhat with the decrease in snow covered area contributing to the
runoff and recent temperatures in a more seasonal range in the West
Walker River basin, but they remain just below flood stages.

As a result, flows into and below the Mason-Yerington area on the
mainstem Walker River will remain high through the week. Flows are
expected to remain near current levels until late this week when the
increased flows from the East Walker make their way into the Mason
Valley. At that time, flows are expected to climb above earlier
crests to levels above moderate flood stage at Mason. Flows will
also increase at Wabuska and downstream to Weber Reservoir by the
weekend and into early next week.

Any changes to upstream reservoir management will result in changes
to the river forecasts.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

These river forecasts are based on forecast rainfall and temperature
conditions at time of issuance. If actual conditions vary from these
forecasts...river conditions will vary accordingly. River forecasts
include current and planned reservoir releases.
