AT 1215 PM MDT...ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE BEGINNING
TO DEVELOP OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF NORTHERN GRANT AND WESTERN
SIERRA COUNTIES IN NEW MEXICO. THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL WAS INITIALLY
LOCATED 5 MILES NORTHWEST OF PINOS ALTOS AND NEAR POVERTY CREEK.
THIS ACTIVITY WAS MOVING TOWARDS THE SOUTHWEST AT AROUND 10 MPH.
IN GENERAL...RAINFALL TOTALS SHOULD RANGE FROM AROUND ONE QUARTER
TO ONE HALF INCH FROM THIS INITIAL AREA OF CONVECTION. HOWEVER
STRONGER STORMS ARE OCCURRING UPSTREAM OF THIS AREA IN SOCORRO
COUNTY. EXPECT TO SEE STORMS PRODUCING LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND
GUSTY WINDS ARRIVING LATER THIS AFTERNOON.
