WEATHER SUMMARY FOR MINNESOTA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TWIN CITIES/CHANHASSEN MN
553 AM CST WED JAN 11 2017
So far this week the weather has been all about rinse and repeat,
with bouts of snow spread about 12 to 20 hours apart and today is no
different, with snow falling once again. We saw a quick inch of snow
from the southwest into the Twin Cities early this morning, with a
second round of snow expected for the same area this morning. Behind
this, there will be one more bout of light snow and this time it
will be down along the I-90 corridor this evening. After that, it`s
dry and cold through the weekend.
Behind Tuesday`s snow, we saw brisk northwest winds bring arctic air
back and this air will remain with us through the rest of the work
week. The coldest day is expected to be Friday as high pressure
settling overhead during the morning will result in lows between 15
and 30 degrees below zero with highs Friday in the single digits.
This weekend though we will climb back out of the arctic chill, with
above normal temperatures expected next week.
