Cooler air continued to move southward across the state overnight.
The leading edge was associated with a band of lower clouds that
stretched from near Redwood Falls, northeast to Rush City. These
clouds held temperatures up overnight with most readings in the 20s
in central and northern Minnesota during the pre dawn hours.
Temperatures were also in the 20s in southern Minnesota where the
bulk of the cooler air has not arrived.

Temperatures today will be reflected on how much cloud cover holds,
or moves out of the area. Based on current satellite trends some
sunshine is likely in western Minnesota by the mid to late morning,
with clouds lingering in the east and northeast until this
afternoon. Highs will be generally in the 30s, with 40s where skies
