The National Weather Service in BLACKSBURG has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Bedford County in south central Virginia...

* Until 745 PM EDT

* At 539 PM EDT, local law enforcement officials reported flooding
  in Bedford with at least one creek out of its banks in the city of
  Bedford. Additional minor flooding was already occurring in the
  area.  Thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall have persisted over
  the past 1 to 2 hours between Thaxton, Bedford, and Goode,
  producing very heavy rainfall. Flash flooding is imminent.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  and Timberlake.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible between
Bedford and Goode during the next hour.


Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service
