FLOOD STATEMENT

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...


Do not drive vehicles through flooded waterways.  Use caution when
walking near flooded riverbanks.  Do not try to wade or swim in
flooded rivers and bayous.

The flood warning continues for
  the Red River At Shreveport, Louisiana.
* from late Saturday night until further notice...or until the
  warning is cancelled.
* At 800 AM Friday the stage was 28.6 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 30 feet.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Sunday morning and continue to
  rise to near 34.0 feet by June 6.  Additional rises remain
  possible thereafter.
* Impact...at 34.0 feet...Old Blanchard Highway just north of the
  Cross Lake spillway is flooded and closed.  Extensive backwater
  flooding of Cross Bayou and Twelve Mile Bayou begins.  Also expect
  flooding of Martin Luther King Drive...and south Fant Parkway.
  High water will approach to near Sci-Port in downtown Shreveport and
  flow over Fant Parkway.
