Last night, temperatures in the panhandle and northwest Sandhills
dropped into the 40s to 50s, while temperatures east of a line
from Imperial to Wood Lake were in the 60s and 70s due to gusty
winds out of the south. Winds were 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to

Today, mostly sunny and dry conditions this morning will give way
to increasing clouds. Showers and thunderstorms are possible this
evening. Temperatures will be cool for the northwest Sandhills
with highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s. Across north central and
southwest Nebraska temperatures will reach near record, with highs
in the 90s. Winds in north central Nebraska will be strong out of
the southwest at 15 to 25 mph.
