534 AM CDT Wed Apr 26 2017

Colder air will settle into the area today, but temperatures
should remain warm enough for precipitation that occurs today to
fall as rain.

A significant band of precipitation is expected to surge into the
area tonight and linger into early Thursday. By that time, the
air could be cold enough to result in a mix of rain, sleet, and
freezing rain. The precipitation could even change to snow before
diminishing Thursday morning. The mixed wintry precipitation
could result in hazardous travel conditions.

The exact temperatures late tonight will be critical in
determining the potential for icing on untreated roads. Thursday
morning commuters and anyone with travel plans during that time
should closely monitor later forecasts for updated information on
the potential for icy roads. A Winter Weather Advisory may be
posted later today if it appears likely there will be enough
wintry precipitation to impact travel.
