...The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has downgraded a
the previous warning to a flood advisory for the following rivers in
Southwest Lower Michigan...

  Chippewa River Below Mt Pleasant affecting Isabella County

.River levels have fallen below flood warning thresholds on the
Chippewa River below Mt. Pleasant. Short term trends continue to
show the river falling over the next couple of days. Trends will be
highly dependent on rainfall amounts expected through the middle of
the week. Improvement could be slowed by resulting precipitation and
levels should continue to be closely monitored by residents living
along the river. The following forecast is based on observed and
forecast 24 hour precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

A flood advisory means minor flooding is possible and rivers are
forecast to exceed bankfull.  If you are in the advisory area remain
alert to possible flooding...or the possibility of the advisory being
upgraded to a warning.  Report observed flooding to local emergency
services or law enforcement and request they pass this information on
to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a
* Flood Advisory for
  the Chippewa River Below Mt Pleasant.
* until Saturday afternoon.
* at 06 AM Tuesday the stage was 7.8 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 6.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Forecast, the river is expected to fall through at least early
  Wednesday.
* Impact, at 8.0 feet...Expect minor flooding of Island Park and
  Nelson Park in western Mt. Pleasant.
