...The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a Flood
Advisory for the Sturgeon River...

  Sturgeon River near Nahma Junction affecting Delta County

.Heavy rain of 1 to 2 inches that fell across the Sturgeon River
basin most of Sunday has led to the river reaching bankfull.
Additional rainfall of up to 0.5 inches is possible across the
basin later today as showers and some thunderstorms develop over
south central Upper Michigan. The river will crest during the
day today then gradually subside below bankfull later tonight.


Safety message...Residents along these rivers should remain alert and
exercise caution when walking near riverbanks.

A Flood Advisory means minor flooding is possible and rivers are
forecast to exceed bankfull. If you are in the advisory area remain
alert to possible flooding...or the possibility of the advisory being
upgraded to a warning. Report observed flooding to local emergency
services or law enforcement and request they pass this information on
to the National Weather Service.

* At 4 AM Monday the stage was 8.1 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* At 8.0 feet...Water overflows the banks along the river.
