High pressure remained in control of the weather over the
region Thursday. Mostly sunny skies and a south southeast
breeze prevailed across the area during the afternoon hours,
as temperatures topped out in the upper 60s to middle 70s.

Cloud cover will increase from the southwest overnight, as
the high pressure area moves off to the east. Parts of
northeast Missouri, southeast Iowa, and west central Illinois
may even see an isolated shower towards daybreak. Temperatures
will settle into the mid 40s near Dubuque and Freeport, while
Keokuk only slips into the mid 50s.
