Mostly cloudy skies and blustery winds were found across the
region Saturday morning, as strong high pressure was building
south across the northern Great Plains and upper Mississippi
Valley. Low temperatures as of 7 pm were in the middle 30s.
Skies will become mostly sunny by this afternoon as high pressure
takes full control of the weather across the region. Blustery
northwest winds will decrease to 10 to 15 miles per hour by this
afternoon. High temperatures will be near normal for mid March,
and will range from the middle 40s over northwest Illinois, to
lower 50s over northeast Missouri and southeast Iowa.
A few clouds will persist for tonight as the high pressure slowly
moves east over the Great Lakes. Overnight low temperatures will
drop into the upper 20s and lower 30s.
