Snow showers were overspreading the region this morning ahead of
a storm located over the central Great Plains. Morning snow
amounts ranged from less than half an inch in the Quad Cities, to
near two and a half inches in Dubuque. Overnight low temperatures
ranged from 30 in Dubuque, to 36 in Vinton.
Snow showers will continue before ending this afternoon. Final
snowfall accumulations north of I-80 will reach 2 to 4 inches on
grassy surfaces. Further south from I-80 to Highway 34, snow
accumulations will range from 1 to 3 inches, with lesser amounts
across northeast Missouri where snow will mix with rain by mid
morning. High temperatures will range from the middle 30s over
eastern Iowa, to near 40 over northeast Missouri.
Skies will become partly cloudy overnight, as high pressure behind the
storm builds across central Missouri. Overnight low temperatures,
will drop into the upper 20s.
