A cold front tracked across eastern Iowa, northwest Illinois, and
northeast Missouri Thursday evening. Showers and thunderstorms
developed ahead of the front, with a few storms reaching severe
limits. Large hail approaching ping pong to golf ball size and
wind gusts to 60 MPH were reported with several thunderstorms.
High temperatures ranged from 81 in Dubuque, to 88 in Burlington,
Fairfield and Fort Madison.

Showers and thunderstorms will exit the region tonight, allowing
for skies to become clear to partly cloudy for the day Friday as
high pressure builds across the middle Mississippi River Valley.
Overnight low temperatures will drop into the upper 50s to lower
60s, while high temperatures for Friday will climb into the upper
70s to lower 80s.
