The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northeastern Fulton County in west central Illinois...
  Southeastern Knox County in west central Illinois...
  Western Peoria County in central Illinois...

* Until 1215 PM CDT

* At 616 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Up to three inches of rain have
  already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Canton, Farmington, Elmwood, Hanna City, Glasford, Trivoli,
  Brimfield, Yates City, St. David, Williamsfield, Laura, Elmore,
  Kingston Mines, Dunfermline, Mapleton, Norris, Banner and

Additional rainfall amounts of and inch or two are possible in
parts of the warned area.

This includes Interstate 74 between mile markers 66 and 78.


Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
