FLOOD STATEMENT

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following
waterways in Indiana...

  Driftwood River...East Fork White River...Muscatatuck
  River...Sugar Creek...Wabash River...White River...Wildcat
  Creek...

...The Flood Warning is no longer in effect for portions of the
following waterways in Indiana...

  White River...Eel River...Big Blue River...


.Widespread lowland flooding developed along rivers and creeks
streams in central and southern Indiana. Significant flooding is
possible at a few locations. Flood crests will range from bankfull
to nearly 9 feet above flood stage in the Montezuma area along the
Wabash River in western Indiana.

Flooding will affect local and some state roads, extensive
bottomlands, river parks and possibly a few residential areas.
Flooding will last through the weekend in central Indiana and persist
into the first week of February in southwest Indiana and southeast
Illinois.

Widespread rains of 1 to nearly 2 inches fell in central and
southern Indiana on Thursday night.  Melted precipitation since
January 10 totals from 2 to slightly more than 4 inches.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

  The Wabash River at Lafayette.
* UNTIL THURSDAY AFTERNOON.
* At 9:30 PM Saturday the stage was 18.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  Thursday morning.
* At 18.0 feet...Extensive flooding covers many acres of agricultural
  land. State Road 225 closed by high water. Granville Bridge Public
  Access Site flooded. Tippecanoe CR 950 W south of CR 75 S floods in
  several places from the Wabash Bottoms, Janssen Tract to Warren CR
  350 N in the Black Rock Preserve Area, a distance of nearly 1.5
  miles. High water affects Fort Ouiatenon area. All parks in the
  West Lafayette and Lafayette areas are flooded.  High water almost
  on North River Road.

* At 23.0 feet...Flood water is at critical height for most
  agricultural levees.

* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  late Saturday morning.
* At 24.0 feet...Floodwater is near the top of all agricultural
  levees.  Some county roads are impassable.  High water isolates a
  few rural residents.  Basement flooding begins along Water Street
  in Montezuma.  Medusa Aggregates Company Plant Number 9 begins to
  flood.

* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 22.6
  feet after 12 AM Sunday.
* At 23.0 feet...Extensive lowland flooding in progress.  Much river
  water runs through the wastewater treatment plant at Clinton.
  Southeast side of Clinton begins to flood.

* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 20.4 feet by
  Monday evening. The river will fall below flood stage Sunday
  morning.
* At 20.0 feet...Extensive flooding behind Honey Creek Levee as a
  result of two unrepaired levee breaks from the April 2013 flood.
  This levee is maintained by the Honey Creek Levee Association.
  Flood waters behind the Honey Creek levee inundates most roads and
  affects a few residences and or commercial activies.

* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 21.7
  feet Wednesday evening.
* At 22.0 feet...River cabins become isolated.  Basement flooding
  begins in Hutsonville.  Extensive agricultural flooding is in
  progress.  Higher Illinois rural roads in eastern Clark and
  Crawford counties flood.

* UNTIL Wednesday February 01.
* At 9:00 PM Saturday the stage was 18.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 20.6 feet by
  Thursday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Tuesday
  early afternoon.
* At 20.7 feet...Leaverton Park at Palestine, Illinois extensively
  floods including the campground area.  Rodeo area still dry at this
  level. Most if not all local unimproved roads leading to the Wabash
  River in the Palestine area are impassable by any land vehicle.
  Extensive backwater flooding of Minnow Slough, Sugar Creek and
  Lamotte Creek in Palestine area. Numerous river cabins surrounded
  by water across the river from Merom Bluff. Backyards of a few
  residences southeast of Palestine along East River Road flood.

  Friday early afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage
  Monday before midnight.
* At 20.0 feet...Kimmell Park at Vincennes is extensively flooded.
  River cabins begin to flood.  Extensive lowland flooding occurs in
  unprotected areas.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 23.5 feet by
  early Saturday morning next weekend then begin falling.
* At 23.9 feet...Extensive lowland flooding in progress. In Wabash
  County Illinois, South Division Street and 1.5 miles of CR 1280 E
  remain flooded.  High water blocks access to cabins along South
  Division Street and some nearby oil fields.

* UNTIL MONDAY MORNING.
* At 8:30 PM Saturday the stage was 12.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 12.6 feet by
  after 12 AM Sunday. The river will fall below flood stage
  Sunday evening.
* At 12.0 feet...Lowland flooding reported along Sugar Creek and Big
  Blue River in southern Johnson County in March 2011.  Lowland
  flooding begins along portions of the Driftwood River in northern
  Bartholomew County.  Water is near CR 950N to Double Y Saddle Club.

* At 8:45 PM Saturday the stage was 16.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  Tuesday before midnight.
* At 16.4 feet...State Road 258 remained open after the river
  rebounded quickly to this level in June 2010.  State Road 258 had
  been flooded a few days earlier after river crested at 17.9 feet.

* FROM LATE TONIGHT TO Saturday January 28.
* At 9:30 PM Saturday the stage was 19.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by early tomorrow and continue to
  rise to near 24.0 feet by Tuesday evening.  The river will fall
  below flood stage by Saturday morning.
* At 25.0 feet...During the late March 2008 flood, the Bedford Times
  reported the following County Roads still under water; River Road,
  entire Road; Bartlettsville Road, by the bridge and in the bottoms;
  Judah-Logan Road, by the bridge; Logan Bottoms, the gravel part;
  Donica Church Road, between Logan Bottom and the hill; Peerless
  Road, by Mica Metals; Little Salt Creek Run; Stumphole Bridge Road,
  near Indiana State Road 450; Huron-Williams Road; Lawrenceport
  Road; Rivervale Road and Earl Road.

* FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON TO Saturday January 28.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 21.5
  feet early Wednesday morning.
* At 21.2 feet...At this level during December 2013 backwater reached
  the tailwater of Lake Monroe as Salt Creek stopped falling.  The
  crest of the river followed 2 days later and reached 27.6 feet at
  Bedford and caused Salt Creek to rise nearly 6 feet at the
  tailwater of Monroe Lake.

  continue to rise to near 9.1 feet by Wednesday early afternoon.
  The river will fall below flood stage by Friday before midnight.
* At 9.2 feet...State Road 450 just east of Williams is closed by high
  water.  Low agricultural grounds flood.

  Street and south of I-465.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 17.1 feet by
  Monday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Thursday
  morning.
* At 17.0 feet...A few mobile homes located downstream of Spencer are
  isolated because their driveway lanes flood.  County Line Road on
  north side of river has one foot of water and begins to flood in a
  second place.  Spencer Public Access extensively floods.  North
  Moon Road in very rural northwest Monroe County is flooded by the
  White River.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 20.3 feet by
  Monday evening. The river will fall below flood stage Saturday
  morning.
* At 20.0 feet...Water is at Critical levels for makeshift levees.
  Most of bottomlands flood.  Old Vincennes road and State Road 358
  between Plainville and Edwardsport are impassable by several feet.
  High water surrounds river cabins.  This type of flood occurs on
  average about once a year.

* At 21.3 feet...State Road 257 south of Washington began to flood
