Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
540 AM CST Wed Feb 22 2017

.DISCUSSION...
Light rain and drizzle associated with an upper level storm
system along the Gulf coast will end across the region later
this morning, as the disturbance moves further to the
southeast. Although clouds will partially scatter this
afternoon, low-level moisture will be sufficient to support
the development of fog overnight as winds near the surface
become light/variable. The fog will dissipate rather quickly
after sunrise on Thursday, with partly cloudy skies and warm
temperatures expected for the remainder of the day. Due to
light transport winds, smoke dispersion will be fair today.
However, values will increase by Thursday as southerly winds
begin to strengthen ahead of an approaching cold front. This
front will cross the region early Saturday morning, preceded
by a line of showers/storms and followed by a cooler/drier
airmass this weekend. RH values will fall to 35-40% on
Saturday and 30-35% on Sunday. Southerly flow will return
by the end of the weekend, with showers and thunderstorms
possible once again early next week.

Fog potential over the next few days: Very high threat for
fog development tonight...some of which could be locally dense
before sunrise Thursday morning.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
