...HIGH SURF WARNING FOR NORTH AND WEST FACING SHORES...

Surf along north facing shores will be 10 to 15 feet this morning,
building to 20 to 30 feet during the afternoon, and to 30 to 40 feet
tonight and Wednesday.

Surf along west facing shores will be 7 to 12 feet this morning,
building to 14 to 24 feet during the afternoon, and to 20 to 30 feet
tonight and Wednesday.

Surf along east facing shores will be 2 to 4 feet through Wednesday.

Surf along south facing shores will be 2 feet or less through
Wednesday.

Outlook through Tuesday December 19:
The north-northwest swell will slowly subside Wednesday night through
Friday. Increasing short-period northeast swell due to strong
northeast winds will cause rough surf on east facing shores from
Thursday night into the weekend. A moderate northwest swell may arrive
late in the weekend and continue into Monday. No other significant
swells are expected.

Surf heights are forecast heights of the face, or front, of waves. The
surf forecast is based on the significant wave height, the average
height of the one third largest waves, at the locations of the largest
breakers. Some waves may be more than twice as high as the
significant wave height. Expect to encounter rip currents in or near
any surf zone.
