...ANOTHER COLD NIGHT EXPECTED TONIGHT...

...GUSTY WINDS TO DEVELOP ON THURSDAY AS A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM
MOVES THROUGH THE REGION...

.A cold air mass will remain in place through late week. Another
cold night tonight is expected with temperatures dropping to near
or below freezing. Gusty winds will develop between Thursday and
Friday as a trough moves through the region.

...FREEZE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 9 AM PST
THURSDAY...

* TEMPERATURE...Temperatures will drop into the mid 20s to lower
  30s late tonight and into early Thursday morning. The coldest
  temperatures will likely occur in the Ojai Valley.

* IMPACTS...A freeze can kill crops and sensitive vegetation,
  and harm outdoor pets and livestock. Extended exposure to cold
  can cause hypothermia.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Freeze Warning means temperatures 29 and 32 for two or more
consecutive hours are imminent. Protective measures to save crops
and sensitive vegetation should be taken. Vulnerable animals and
pets should be kept indoors in a house or barn.

...FROST ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 9 AM PST THURSDAY...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
Frost Advisory for the Santa Clarita Valley and the Santa Monica
Mountains. This advisory which is in effect from 1 AM to 9 AM PST
Thursday.

* TEMPERATURES...Temperatures will drop into the lower to mid 30s
  later tonight and continue through Thursday morning. Isolated
  temperatures dipping into the upper 20s are possible along the
  interior slopes and valleys of the Santa Monica Mountains.

* IMPACTS...Frost can damage sensitive plants and harm pets.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Frost Advisory means that frost is imminent. Measures should be
taken to protect sensitive outdoor plants. Pets should be brought
indoors.

THURSDAY...

* WINDS AND TIMING...Southwest to west winds will increase to 20
  to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph on Thursday and continue
  through Thursday evening. There is a chance that gusty
  westerly winds could linger into Friday or Friday night.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will make driving difficult, especially
  for high profile vehicles. Areas of blowing dust can suddenly
  and dangerously reduce visibilities to near zero. This
  includes Highways 14 and 138, especially near the foothills.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

When driving, use extra caution. Be prepared for sudden gusty
cross winds.

  through Thursday evening. Gusty winds will likely switch to
  the northwest late Thursday night and linger into Friday or
  Friday night.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will make driving difficult, especially
  for high profile vehicles. This includes Interstate 5 and
  Highway 14.

  192...as well as the Gaviota and San Marcos Passes.
