Weather Summary for Western and North Central Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
934 AM CST Thu Dec 8 2016 /834 AM MST Thu Dec 8 2016/

Very cold air and blustery northwest winds combined to create wind
chills as low as -20 overnight. Actual air temperatures ranged
from -10 near the Pine Ridge to around 5 above in north central
Nebraska.

With an area of high pressure anchored over the Great Plains,
western Nebraska will experience plenty of sunshine today.
However, it will do little to help temperatures as highs will
remain in the teens across the Sandhills and lower 20s in
southwest Nebraska. Cloud cover will gradually increase tonight
ahead of the next weather system. Lows will generally be around
zero.
