Very hot and dry for the next couple of days over the Mid- South.
However, isolated afternoon thunderstorms cannot be ruled out.
Afternoon heat index values will be above 100 area-wide each day
and may approach 110 at the hottest locations. Today and tomorrow
look to be the hottest days with temperatures returning to near
normal by Sunday. Better rain chances will return to the Midsouth
by Sunday. Near to slightly below normal temperatures with
enhanced rain chances are expected early next week.
