...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
  Connecticut River At Middle Haddam affecting Middlesex County

For the lower Connecticut River, near Haddam and points south - NASA
Modis satellite imagery indicates that there are 2 ice jams frozen
in place on the lower Connecticut River. The longer of the two
originates at the East Haddam Bridge and is several miles long.
The second ice field is located further south along the river
channel. The ice jams are restricting the amount of water able to
move downstream.


Safety Message...A Flood Statement providing the latest information
in this flood event will be issued within the next 8 hours, or
earlier if needed.

Safety Message...Do not allow children to play near swollen rivers,
streams or culverts. Swiftly moving water can pose an imminent threat
to life.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Connecticut River At Middle Haddam.
* until further notice...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  7:55 PM Saturday the stage was 8.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 7.7 feet
  by Monday morning.
* Impact...At 8.0 feet...Flooding is expected in low lying sections
  along the Connecticut River from Wethersfield and Glastonbury
  downstream through Cromwell, Middletown and Portland. Boating
  interests should prepare for a period of swift river flows.
