The National Weather Service in Wilmington NC has confirmed a
tornado in North Myrtle Beach in Horry County South Carolina on
October 8 2016.

The tornado moved ashore on the east side of North Ocean Blvd
between 17th and 18th Ave causing some minor structure damage. The
tornado rapidly moved across 17th Ave North and North Hillside Dr
causing downed trees and minor structure damage. It then moved near
the intersection of 16 Ave North and Spring Land Lane causing downed
trees as an 85 mph EF-0 tornado. The tornado then moved across a
large tract of the Surf Golf and Beach Club causing additional tree
damage. It moved out of the Surf Golf and Beach Club area near North
Kings Highway and 11th Ave North where it impacted a couple
business and a small subdivision. The damage to the structures there
was minor. The tornado lifted northeast of Vereen Rd near the Intra-
Coastal Waterway.
