A PRACTICE/DEMONSTRATION NON-WEATHER EMERGENCY MESSAGE IS SCHEDULED
FOR DISTRIBUTION BY THE FLORIDA DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
OFFICE ON THURSDAY JUNE 11 2015 AT 11:00 AM EDT (10:00 AM CDT). THE
PURPOSE OF THIS PRACTICE/DEMONSTRATION MESSAGE IS TO DEMONSTRATE
CAPABILITY TO DISTRIBUTE TO THE PUBLIC EMERGENCY MESSAGES USING
INTEROPERABLE SYSTEMS IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA...THE NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE /NWS/ AND THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY. IN THE
EVENT THE TESTS ARE POSTPONED...A PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENT WILL
BE ISSUED TO ANNOUNCE THE POSTPONEMENT.

DETAILS OF PRACTICE/DEMONSTRATION MESSAGES.

PLEASE PREPARE FOR TRANSMISSION OF A PRACTICE/DEMONSTRATION MESSAGE
ON THURSDAY JUNE 11 2015. THE TEST WILL BE POSTPONED IF A CRITICAL
WEATHER DAY HAD BEEN DECLARED OR IF THERE IS THE FORECAST OR
OCCURRENCE OF SEVERE WEATHER OR IF THERE IS A NON-WEATHER EMERGENCY
IN THE AREA THE DAYS OF THE DEMONSTRATION. ALL
PRACTICE/DEMONSTRATION MESSAGES WILL BE SENT AS PRODUCT CATEGORY DMO
TO MINIMIZE IMPACT ON USERS.

THE PRACTICE/DEMONSTRATION NON-WEATHER EMERGENCY MESSAGES WILL BROADCAST NOAA
WEATHER RADIO SPECIFIC AREA MESSAGE ENCODING /SAME/ TONES FOR THE CATEGORY
DMO PRACTICE/DEMO WARNING. MOST WEATHER RADIO AND PUBLIC ALERT RECEIVERS ARE
DESIGNED NOT TO ALERT FOR THE DMO PRACTICE/DEMO WARNING. CHECK YOUR
RECEIVER/S USER MANUAL FOR DETAILS. THE TEXT AND BROADCAST MESSAGES WILL
CLEARLY INDICATE THAT THEY ARE A PRACTICE/DEMONSTRATION TEST MESSAGE. THE DMO
PRACTICE/DEMO WARNING MESSAGE SHOULD BE RECEIVED AND NOTED IN STATION LOGS AT
EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM STATIONS BUT SHOULD NOT BE BROADCAST OVER THE AIR.

WEATHER SERVICE IN NON-WEATHER RELATED TEXT PRODUCTS...AND OVER NOAA WEATHER
RADIO ALL HAZARDS /NWR/ AND THE EAS. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOES NOT
INITIATE NON-WEATHER RELATED EMERGENCY MESSAGES.  NWS INSTRUCTION 10-518
