Weather Summary for Western and North Central Nebraska

Sunshine and southwest winds helped push temperatures into the
upper 70s for much of the area today. Scattered thunderstorms
developed mid to late afternoon across the panhandle and northwest
Nebraska and moved east through the early evening hours. Ping
pong ball size hail and wind gusts over 60 miles per hour were
reported with some storms.

Scattered storms will continue to affect parts of western Nebraska
through the late evening hours, some of which may produce gusty
winds and hail. Lows tonight will range from the mid 40s in
northwest Nebraska to the mid 50s in north central Nebraska with
light northwest winds. Additional thunderstorms are likely
Thursday evening, with very large hail and damaging winds being
the primary threats. A tornado or two is also possible, primarily
for southern Nebraska. Thursday highs will generally be in the
mid 70s.
