DAKOTA AND SOUTHEAST SOUTH DAKOTA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

A HAZARDOUS WINTRY SCENARIO WILL EVOLVE TONIGHT ACROSS AREAS
GENERALLY WEST OF A LINE FROM BROOKINGS TO MITCHELL TO LAKE
ANDES...WHERE A WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION WILL GRADUALLY DEVELOP
LATE TONIGHT. LOWER BRULE AREAS ARE EXPECTED TO CHANGE TO ALL
SNOW LATE...WITH A MINOR ACCUMULATION OF SNOW BY DAYBREAK. IN
ADDITION...A MINOR ACCUMULATION OF ICE WILL BE POSSIBLE.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

THE WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION ACROSS THE AREA WILL GRADUALLY
TRANSITION TO SNOWFALL DURING THE MORNING ACROSS EASTERN SOUTH
DAKOTA...AND EARLY TO MID AFTERNOON IN SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA.
SNOW WILL CONTINUE INTO THE EVENING BEFORE ENDING...ALTHOUGH THE
GREATEST SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED GENERALLY DURING THE MORNING AND
EARLY AFTERNOON. TOTAL SNOWFALL WILL VARY FROM 2 TO 6 INCHES...WITH
GREATEST AMOUNTS IN THE LOWER BRULE AND LOWER JAMES VALLEY
LOCATIONS. DURING THE MORNING...SIGNIFICANT ICE ACCUMULATIONS
UP TO TWO TENTHS OF AN INCH ARE POSSIBLE EAST OF THE JAMES VALLEY.

AS NORTH TO NORTHWEST WINDS INCREASE TO A GUSTY 20 TO 35 MPH...
SOME AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW ARE EXPECTED DURING THE AFTERNOON
HOURS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

STARTING AROUND LUNCHTIME ON MONDAY NEAR INTERSTATE 29 AND WORKING
SLOWLY EASTWARD THROUGH THE AFTERNOON...RAIN WILL BEGIN TO CHANGE
TO SNOW...WITH A PERIOD OF MIXED SLEET OR FREEZING RAIN POSSIBLE.
SNOW ACCUMULATIONS SHOULD RANGE FROM 1 TO 3 INCHES BY THE TIME
SNOWFALL TAPERS OFF MONDAY NIGHT.
