AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION FOR AMERICAN SAMOA AND INDEPENDENT SAMOA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PAGO PAGO AS
136 PM SST THU MAR 26 2015

.SHORT TERM...
TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT...SATELLITE IMAGERIES SHOW A BROAD
AREA OF DEEP CONVECTIONS NEAR THE SAMOAN ISLANDS. RAOB FROM THIS
AFTERNOON DEPICTS AN UNSTABLE PROFILE. MODELS SUGGEST THAT
NUMEROUS SHOWERS WILL REMAIN OVER THE ISLANDS THROUGH FRIDAY
MORNING. THE TROUGH IS EXPECTED TO DESCEND SOUTH IN THE AFTERNOON
AS THE LOW DEVELOPS TO THE SOUTHEAST. THEREFORE WILL SLIGHTLY
AMEND THE PREVIOUS FCST TO DELAY IMPROVING WEATHER ON FRIDAY
AFTERNOON.

.LONG TERM...
SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...MODELS ARE NOT IN AGREEMENT DURING THE
MIDDLE OF THE NEW WEEK. SOME ARE PUSHING REMNANTS OF THE TROUGH
ACROSS THE ISLANDS WHILE OTHERS ARE DEVELOPING A LOW NEAR NORTH OF
SAMOA. WILL KEEP THE PREVIOUS FCST WHILE MONITORING A FEW MORE
MODEL RUNS.

&&

.MARINE...
NO SIGNIFICANT SWELLS ARE EXPECTED TO IMPACT COASTAL WATERS AND
SHORELINES IN THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.

&&

.PPG WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
