...Flood Potential Outlook for rises on rivers and streams in the
following counties in California...Siskiyou and in Oregon...Coos...
Curry...Douglas...Jackson...Josephine...

.Heavy rainfall from the last two storms which occurred over 48 hours
has resulted in rapid rises on area stream and rises on mainstem rivers.
Small streams and creeks are peaking this afternoon then are expected
to lower this evening. Small streams and creeks have seen rapid rises
with some streams reaching near or just below bankful. Mainstem
rivers are forecast to see rises today into the weekend. No flooding
is expected on mainstem rivers. The main impact from this heavy
rain event has been with  road damage from excessive
rainfall, including a couple sink holes, landslides or rockfalls,
and other road damage. This damage has occurred mainly near the
coast and into western Siskiyou County. No additional heavy rain
is expected. Light to moderate showers will move into the area
this evening and continue into the weekend.

A flood potential outlook is issued when there is the potential for
significant rises or flooding along rivers and streams.

The exact scenario for flooding remains uncertain. This product will
be updated as necessary. Watches and warnings may be issued by the
National Weather Service if this situation worsens.
