WEEK IN THE UNITED STATES. EACH DAY DURING THE AWARENESS WEEK THE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MELBOURNE WILL FEATURE INFORMATION ABOUT
A DIFFERENT LIGHTNING RELATED TOPIC.

A PERSON STRUCK BY LIGHTNING NEEDS IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION! CALL
911 OR SEND FOR IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE. THE VAST MAJORITY OF PEOPLE
WHO HAVE BEEN STRUCK HAVE SURVIVED...OFTEN THROUGH THE
ADMINISTRATION OF SIMPLE CPR. THE PERSON WILL BE SAFE TO TOUCH AS
THE HUMAN BODY DOES NOT "STORE" ELECTRICITY. IF THE PERSON IS
UNCONSCIOUS...BE CAREFUL OF HEAD AND NECK TRAUMA IF THE PERSON HAS
