Weather Summary for Upper Mississippi River Valley
National Weather Service La Crosse WI
300 AM CDT Thu Sep 21 2017

Thunderstorms continued to track east across northern Illinois and
far eastern Wisconsin early this morning. Off to the west, skies
have cleared as high pressure has taken over. Also, areas of fog
have also developed over northern and central Wisconsin - especially
where rain fell yesterday. Low temperatures so far this morning
ranged from near 40 in the Minnesota arrowhead, to near 70 in
eastern Iowa.

The cold front that brought the showers and storms yesterday will
move back north today. Some clouds will be found around the
boundary, with small chances for a shower or storm. Otherwise,
sunshine will be fairly prevalent for most of the region. Highs
today will range from the lower 70s over northern Minnesota to near
90 in eastern Iowa. Lows tonight will range in the 60s.

Looking ahead, its going to be very warm and generally dry for the
local area through the upcoming weekend. Summery air returns and
highs will top 90 degrees for some. Rain chances will mostly hold to
western and northern Minnesota.
