REGIONAL WEATHER SUMMARY FOR WESTERN KANSAS

In the early evening, a line of thunderstorms and showers moved from
eastern Colorado across the northwest corner of Kansas and western
Nebraska. There were no reports of precipitation. Western Kansas had
high temperatures ranging from the lower 80s to around 100 degrees.
An upper level ridge of high pressure extending from New Mexico
across Oklahoma will remain nearly stationary into the weekend. An
upper level low pressure system will move east across southern
Canada tonight and Friday. At the surface, a trough of low pressure
will remain across eastern Colorado. A cold front will move from the
Northern Plains across western Nebraska tonight and into northwest
Kansas by Friday afternoon. The Central Plains will be partly cloudy
tonight and generally sunny Friday.
Overnight low temperatures will be in the upper 60s in western
Nebraska and northwest Kansas and in the lower 70s across most of
northern Oklahoma. Friday afternoon high temperatures are expected
to be around 100 degrees in southern Nebraska, and in most of Kansas
and the Texas Panhandle and Oklahoma.
