THE COMBINATION OF SUMMER HEAT AND HUMIDITY WILL RESULT IN DANGEROUS
HEAT INDEX VALUES FOR PORTIONS OF THE AREA THIS
AFTERNOON...ESPECIALLY ALONG AND EAST OF A LINE FROM
AURORA...NEBRASKA TO PHILLIPSBURG...KANSAS. HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE
EXPECTED TO CLIMB INTO THE 90S TO NEAR 100 DEGREES...AND WITH
INCREASED DEW POINT VALUES...HEAT INDEX VALUES REACHING UP NEAR 105
DEGREES IS EXPECTED. DRY CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH THE DAYTIME
HOURS TODAY...BUT THERE IS A SMALL CHANCE OF SOME THUNDERSTORMS
WORKING THEIR WAY INTO THE REGION LATER TONIGHT AND INTO SATURDAY. A
COLD FRONT WILL WORK ITS WAY THROUGH THE REGION...AND WHILE WARM
TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED AGAIN ON SATURDAY WITH THE THUNDERSTORM
CHANCES...SUNDAY WILL SEE DRY CONDITIONS WITH AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES
IN THE LOWER 80S TO NEAR 90 DEGREES.
