Weather Summary for the MidSouth

A warm front will lift north across the Mid-South. Chances for
showers and thunderstorms will occur along and ahead of the front.
The front may become stalled across Southern Missouri tonight.
As a result, periods of showers and thunderstorms will occur in the
vicinity of the front, mainly across Northeast Arkansas and the
Missouri Bootheel. Some storms may be severe as well.

The front will begin to lift further north by Saturday morning
providing a lull in thunderstorm activity for the Mid-South during
the day. Expect highs in the 80s on Saturday, possibly
approaching 90 degrees across Northeast Mississippi.

A cold front will begin to approach the Mid-South from the west
Saturday evening. As a result, chances for showers and
thunderstorms will begin to occur again. The showers and
thunderstorms will become widespread on Sunday as the cold front
passes through the area. Some storms may be severe ahead of the
front.

High pressure will begin to build into the region for the
beginning of next week bringing drier and cooler conditions to
the area.
