...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR EAST FACING SHORES...

SURF ALONG NORTH FACING SHORES WILL BE 2 TO 4 FEET TODAY...RISING
TO 4 TO 6 FEET SUNDAY.

SURF ALONG WEST FACING SHORES WILL BE 2 TO 4 FEET TODAY...LOWERING
TO 1 TO 3 FEET SUNDAY.

SURF ALONG EAST FACING SHORES WILL BE 8 TO 12 FEET TODAY WITH
OCCASIONAL HIGHER SETS...LOWERING TO 5 TO 7 FEET SUNDAY.

SURF ALONG SOUTH FACING SHORES WILL BE 2 TO 4 FEET THROUGH SUNDAY.

OUTLOOK THROUGH SATURDAY JULY 30:
THE EAST SWELL FROM TROPICAL STORM DARBY WILL CONTINUE TO BRING HIGH
END ADVISORY LEVEL SURF TO EAST FACING SHORES. SURF HEIGHTS COULD
POSSIBLY BOOST HIGHER TO WARNING LEVELS DEPENDING ON THE EVENTUAL
PATH AND RESULTING WIND WAVES OF DARBY. THIS WOULD LIKELY OCCUR
BEGINNING TONIGHT OR SUNDAY...BUT FORECAST CONFIDENCE IS LOW
GIVEN THE SMALL FETCH. EITHER WAY...CONDITIONS WILL BE VERY ROUGH
AND CHOPPY EVEN IF HEIGHTS DO NOT MEET WARNING CRITERIA. SURF
HEIGHTS ALONG EAST SHORES WILL DROP DRASTICALLY AFTER DARBY MOVES
WEST OF OAHU. THE NORTH SHORES ARE ALSO EXPECTED TO EXPERIENCE A
BUMP IN SURF...HOWEVER A GREAT DEAL OF UNCERTAINTY REMAINS WITH
EXACT DIRECTION AND HEIGHTS. THE EVENT IS FORECAST TO BRING ROUGH
CONDITIONS WITH A NORTHERLY COMPONENT RANGING FROM NORTHWEST TO
NORTHEAST SUNDAY. SURF IS EXPECTED TO DROP DRASTICALLY MONDAY. A
BACKGROUND SOUTH SOUTHWEST SWELL WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE WEEKEND
INTO NEXT WEEK.

SURF HEIGHTS ARE FORECAST HEIGHTS OF THE FACE OR FRONT OF WAVES. THE
SURF FORECAST IS BASED ON THE SIGNIFICANT WAVE HEIGHT...THE AVERAGE
HEIGHT OF THE ONE THIRD LARGEST WAVES...IN THE ZONE OF MAXIMUM
REFRACTION. SOME WAVES MAY BE MORE THAN TWICE AS HIGH AS THE
SIGNIFICANT WAVE HEIGHT. EXPECT TO ENCOUNTER RIP CURRENTS IN OR NEAR
ANY SURF ZONE.
