The National Weather Service in Quad Cities  has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  South central Jo Daviess County in northwestern Illinois...
  Northwestern Carroll County in northwestern Illinois...
  Southeastern Jackson County in east central Iowa...

* Until 915 PM CDT.

* At 823 PM CDT, a confirmed tornado was located near Maquoketa,
  moving east at 40 mph.

  HAZARD...Damaging tornado.

  SOURCE...Weather spotters confirmed tornado around 814 pm near

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree
           damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
  Maquoketa, Savanna, Bellevue, Preston, Hanover, Elizabeth, Sabula,
  Miles, Andrew, Springbrook, Spragueville, Fulton, Hurstville, Green
  Island, Van Buren, Whitton, North Hanover, Elizabeth Fairgrounds,
  Reeceville and Jackson County Fairgrounds.


To repeat, a tornado is on the ground. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a
basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy
building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in
a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect
yourself from flying debris.
