...SEVERAL TORNADOES REPORTED WITHIN THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE
HASTINGS COVERAGE AREA ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON/EVENING...

AS OF 9 PM CDT WEDNESDAY EVENING...NWS HASTINGS HAS RECEIVED
SEVERAL REPORTS OF TORNADOES WITHIN MAINLY SOUTHERN/SOUTHEASTERN
PORTIONS OF ITS COVERAGE AREA...SOME OF WHICH CAUSED DAMAGE AND
POSSIBLY AT LEAST 1 INJURY.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL TORNADO REPORTS THUS FAR ARE
PRELIMINARY...AND OFFICIAL/FINAL DETERMINATION OF TORNADO
TRACKS/INTENSITIES WILL NOT BE RELEASED UNTIL SOMETIME ON THURSDAY
OR POSSIBLY FRIDAY...PENDING FURTHER INVESTIGATION BY EMERGENCY
MANAGERS...NWS STORM SURVEYS ETC. IN THE MEANTIME...NWS HASTINGS
ASKS THE PATIENCE OF MEDIA PARTNERS AND OTHER INTERESTED
PARTIES...AS THESE OFFICIAL TORNADO REPORTS ARE GRADUALLY
DETERMINED AND RELEASED. ALSO KEEP IN MIND THAT SOME PRELIMINARY
TORNADO REPORTS MAY CONSIST OF MULTIPLE REPORTS OF THE SAME
TORNADO ALONG THE SAME PATH...AND NOT NECESSARILY REPRESENT AN
INDIVIDUAL ADDITIONAL TORNADO.

ALTHOUGH NONE OF THIS INFORMATION IS OFFICIAL AS OF YET...HERE IS
A "ROUGH" RUNDOWN OF THE PRELIMINARY TORNADO REPORTS AND GENERAL
TIMES/LOCATIONS SO FAR TODAY:

1) JEWELL COUNTY KS -- TORNADO AFFECTED WESTERN/NORTHERN PORTIONS
OF THE COUNTY MAINLY BETWEEN 330 AND 430 PM CDT...WITH THE FIRST
TOUCHDOWN REPORTED APPROXIMATELY 8 MILES WEST OF IONIA...AND
ANOTHER REPORT OF HOME DAMAGE AND A POSSIBLE INJURY 4 MILES
SOUTHWEST OF BURR OAK

2) ADAMS COUNTY NE -- TORNADO DIRECTLY IMPACTED ROSELAND AND
VICINITY AT APPROXIMIATELY 424 PM CDT. CONFIRMED DAMAGE TO SOME
BUILDINGS AND HOMES.

3) JEWELL COUNTY KS AND NUCKOLLS COUNTY NE -- TORNADO IMPACTED FAR
NORTHEASTERN JEWELL COUNTY ALONG WITH THE HARDY/RUSKIN NEBRASKA
AREA MAINLY BETWEEN 445 AND 515 PM.

4) JEWELL AND MITCHELL COUNTY KS -- SEPARATE REPORTS FROM
TORNADOES FROM TWO DIFFERENT STORMS MAINLY BETWEEN 450 AND
510 PM CDT...ONE NEAR FORMOSO AND THE OTHER NEAR SCOTTSVILLE. BOTH
OF THESE POSSIBLE TORNADOES EXITED THE NWS HASTINGS COVERAGE AREA
INTO REPUBLIC COUNTY (NWS TOPEKA AREA).

5) THAYER COUNTY NE -- TORNADOES REPORTED FROM SEPARATE STORMS
AROUND 530 PM CDT...ONE NEAR BYRON AND THE OTHER BEWTEEN DAVENPORT
AND CARLETON. THE LATTER WAS A CONTINUATION OF THE SAME
CIRCULATION THAT PASSED EAST OF RUSKIN IN NUCKOLLS COUNTY A BIT
EARLIER.

6) HALL COUNTY NE -- A BRIEF TORNADO WAS REPORTED APPROXIMATELY 3
MILES WEST-NORTHWEST OF GRAND ISLAND...BUT SOON DISSIPATED WITH NO
FURTHER REPORTS.

7) THAYER COUNTY NE -- A TORNADO TRACKED OUT OF REPUBLIC COUNTY KS
(NWS TOPEKA COVERAGE AREA) INTO THAYER COUNTY...MAINLY AFFECTING
THE COUNTY BETWEEN 600 AND 645 PM CDT. THIS TORNADO FIRST ENTERED
THE COUNTY APPROXIMATELY TWO MILES WEST OF CHESTER AND LIKELY
NARROWLY MISSED THE CITY OF HEBRON JUST TO THE SOUTH AND EAST.
