Weather Summary for Portions of the Central Plains
National Weather Service Hastings NE
522 AM CDT Tue Jun 27 2017

Areas of dense fog early this morning will gradually give way to
partly cloudy skies by this afternoon. The morning and afternoon
hours should be dry across south central Nebraska and north central
Kansas. However...thunderstorms will begin to develop in a broken
line from northwest Kansas into the western Nebraska sandhills late
this afternoon or early this evening. These thunderstorms will track
east through the evening and overnight hours...likely tracking
across at least portions of south central Nebraska and perhaps as
far south as north central Kansas between 8 pm and 1 am. Some of the
thunderstorms could be severe especially earlier on with the greater
threat of severe weather north of Highway 6 and west of Highway 281.
Wednesday should be dry...but could again see another round of
thunderstorms across portions of the forecast area Wednesday night
with the higher likelihood being south of the Platte River.
