Weather Summary for Portions of the Central Plains

High pressure will be parked over the Northern Plains today and
tonight. However...an upper-level system will keep skies mainly
cloudy today. Light rain will fall at times south a line from
Lexington to Hebron...with the greatest chance of rain along Highway
136 and south into north central Kansas. Rainfall amounts will be
less than a quarter inch. Temperatures will be cool today...with
highs in the 50s. The high over the Northern Plains will drift south
over the region tomorrow...with decreasing clouds from north to
south. Highs will be in the low 60s. Sunday will be breezy and much
warmer as a low pressure system organizes over Wyoming. Highs will
be in the low to mid 70s. Monday will be the warmest day of the next
seven days...despite a cool front that is forecast to cross the
region. Temperatures will surge even further...with highs close to
80 in many areas. Temperatures will then turn cooler the rest of
next week...especially by Wednesday and Thursday...with a clouds and
rain entering the forecast picture.
