CENTRAL KANSAS...AS WESTERLY BREEZES AVERAGED AROUND 10 MPH. IT WAS
A BIT MILDER THAN YESTERDAY MORNING...WITH TEMPERATURES AT 5 AM
PRIMARILY BETWEEN 27 AND 33 DEGREES. AS FOR THE WEATHER THIS
WEEKEND...ALTHOUGH TEMPERATURES WILL STILL REMAIN ABOVE AVERAGE FOR
LATE JANUARY...ESPECIALLY TODAY...THE OVERALL WEATHER CONDITIONS
THIS WEEKEND MAY NOT BE AS PLEASANT AS PREVIOUSLY THOUGHT. FOCUSING
FIRST ON TODAY...SATURDAY WILL BE THE BETTER OF THE TWO WEEKEND
DAYS. DESPITE INCREASING CLOUDS AS THE DAY GOES ON...TEMPERATURES
THIS AFTERNOON ARE FORECAST TO CLIMB BETWEEN 55 AND 62 DEGREES.
HOWEVER...WESTERLY BREEZES WILL ALSO PICK UP TODAY...WITH SUSTAINED
SPEEDS BECOMING AT LEAST 15 TO 20 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS. FROM LATE
THIS AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT...WINDS WILL BECOME STRONGER AS THEY
TURN NORTHWESTERLY...WITH SUSTAINED SPEEDS CRANKING UP TO AROUND 30
MPH AND GUSTING TO AROUND 40 MPH. ALONG WITH THE STRONGER WINDS WILL
COME A SLIGHT CHANCE FOR A FEW PASSING LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS OR SNOW
FLURRIES...ESPECIALLY WITHIN COUNTIES NORTH AND EAST OF THE NEBRASKA
TRI CITIES. DURING THE DAY ON SUNDAY...IT WILL BE NOTICEABLY COOLER
THAN TODAY...WITH HIGHS TEMPERATURES ONLY TOPPING OUT IN THE 40S IN
MOST PLACES...WITH MAYBE SOME LOW 50S IN SOUTHWESTERN LOCATIONS SUCH
AS CAMBRIDGE NEBRASKA AND STOCKTON KANSAS. IT WILL REMAIN
WINDY...WITH SUSTAINED NORTHWESTERLY SPEEDS GENERALLY 20 TO 30 MPH
WITH HIGHER GUSTS. SOME LIGHT PRECIPITATION COULD PERSIST THROUGH
AROUND MID-DAY...AGAIN MAINLY NORTH AND EAST OF THE TRI CITIES.
LOOKING AHEAD INTO NEXT WEEK...ANOTHER NICE WARM UP ARRIVES DURING
THE MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY TIME FRAME...WITH HIGHS BACK UP INTO
THE 50S AND 60S. COOLER AIR THEN SETTLES SOUTHWARD LATE IN THE
WEEK...KNOCKING HIGHS BACK DOWN IN THE 40S...WITH HINTS OF EVEN
COLDER...MORE WINTRY TEMPERATURES ON THE HORIZON FOR NEXT WEEKEND.
