The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northern East Baton Rouge Parish in southeastern Louisiana...

* Until 230 PM CST

* At 1030 AM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  thunderstorms produced heavy rain across the warned area. A swath
  of 2 to just over 4 inches of rain have fallen in the warned area.
  Most of the flash flooding has likely ended but a second area of
  moderate to heavy showers and embedded thunderstorms will move in
  within the next hour and could quickly lead to flash flooding
  again in these aras.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Baton Rouge, Zachary, Baker, Port Allen, Pride, Greenwell Spring,
  Merrydale, Brownfields and Baton Rouge Airport.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area.


Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
