Weather Summary for the local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
429 AM EDT Mon Oct 24 2016

Rain showers end this morning as a low pressure area and cold
front exit east of the area. A drier and cooler airmass then
arrives in its place on a gusty northwest flow. The strong low in
Southeast Canada will be weakening while a strong high in the
Midwest will be slowly building eastward through the first half of
this week.

With these features, a steep pressure gradient will be present
today through Tuesday. Winds will become gusty once again with
wind speeds generally between 10 and 20 mph and wind gusts in the
25 to 30 mph range.

Temperatures are going to be averaging a few degrees below normal
as we go through the first half of the week. By Tuesday night into
Wednesday, winds will be decreasing as high pressure draws closer
to the region.
