...INCREASED FIRE DANGER THIS AFTERNOON...

Dry and windy conditions will prevail over the lower Maryland
eastern shore this afternoon. Minimum relative humidity values
will range from 30 to 35 percent with sustained northwest winds at
25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph. This will result in increased
fire danger across the lower Maryland eastern shore during the
afternoon hours.

Residents are urged to exercise caution handling any potential
ignition source...including machinery... cigarettes...and matches.
Be sure to properly discard all smoking materials. Any dry grasses
and tree litter that ignite will have the potential to spread
quickly.

eastern Virginia this afternoon. Minimum relative humidity values
will range from 15 to 25 percent west of the Chesapeake bay to
between 30 to 35 percent across the eastern shore. Sustained
northwest winds at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph. This will
result in increased fire danger across all of central and eastern
Virginia during the afternoon hours.

Residents are urged to exercise caution handling any potential
ignition source...including machinery... cigarettes...and matches.
Be sure to properly discard all smoking materials. Any dry grasses
and tree litter that ignite will have the potential to spread
quickly.

at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 mph. This will result in
increased fire danger across northeast North Carolina during the
afternoon hours.

ignition source...including machinery... cigarettes...and matches.
