...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

IN 1988, A BLIZZARD PRODUCED STRONG WINDS AND HEAVY SNOW ACROSS
EASTERN COLORADO. TEN FOOT DRIFTS WERE COMMON AND MANY ROADS WERE
CLOSED INCLUDING INTERSTATES 70, 76, AND 25.

IN 2009, THE LOW TEMPERATURE AT HAIGLER, NEBRASKA, ONLY DROPPED TO
33 DEGREES. THIS IS THE WARMEST LOW TEMPERATURE EVER REPORTED AT HAIGLER
IN JANUARY. THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE FOR THE DATE IS 11 DEGREES.
