...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT WEST CENTRAL TALLADEGA AND
NORTHEASTERN SHELBY COUNTIES THROUGH 645 PM CDT...

At 604 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Vandiver, or 9 miles south of Leeds, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Vincent, Harpersville, Vandiver, Alpine Bay Resort, Alpine, Logan
Martin Dam, Logan Martin Lake, Country Club Estates, and Sterrett.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for
central and east central Alabama.
