...WINTER STORM TO IMPACT NORTHWESTERN NEVADA...

CORRECTED TYPOS

A POTENT WINTER STORM WILL AFFECT MOST OF HUMBOLDT COUNTY BRINGING
A VARIETY OF WEATHER FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY
MORNING.

FOR ELEVATIONS ABOVE 6000 FEET IN HUMBOLDT COUNTY, EXPECT SNOW
TOTALS THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING OF BETWEEN 7 AND 12 INCHES. THIS
WILL MOSTLY AFFECT BACK COUNTRY AREAS, HIGHER MOUNTAINS, AND OTHER
AREAS WHERE ROADS TO NOT REACH. CAMPERS, HUNTERS, OTHER
RECREATION PEOPLE NEED TO BE AWARE OF THE DANGER.

FOR ELEVATIONS BETWEEN ABOUT 5000 AND 6000 FEET AND OTHER HIGHER
AREAS IN NORTHERN HUMBOLDT COUNTY INCLUDING THE SANTA ROSA RANGE,
EXPECT SNOW TOTALS FROM A COUPLE OF INCHES TO AS MUCH AS 7
INCHES. THE HEAVIEST SNOWS WILL NOT AFFECT PAVED ROADS. AGAIN,
PEOPLE DOING RECREATION OR BACK COUNTRY WORK NEED TO BE AWARE OF
THE CHANGING WEATHER.

FOR ELEVATIONS BELOW ABOUT 5000 FEET AND IN THE WESTERN PART OF
THE COUNTY, LOOK FOR EITHER A MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW, OR WET SNOW
WITH MINOR ACCUMULATIONS. HOWEVER, MUCH OF THIS AREA IS ALREADY
WET AND MANY GRAVEL OR UNIMPROVED ROADS ARE GOING TO BECOME A
QUAGMIRE. IT IS GOING TO BE EASY TO GET STUCK.

SUNDAY MORNING`S LOW TEMPERATURES WILL DROP TO THE LOWER TO MID
20S IN THE VALLEYS CAUSING RESIDUAL ROADWAY MOISTURE TO FREEZE,
MAKING TRAVEL EVEN ON PAVED HIGHWAYS A POTENTIAL MESS.
