The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
  Calhoun County in south central Michigan...
  Van Buren County in southwestern Michigan...
  Kalamazoo County in southwestern Michigan...

* Until 400 PM EDT Monday

* At 1128 AM EDT, Doppler radar and weather spotters indicated that
  4 to 8 inches of rain has fallen across much of Van Buren,
  Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties. The highest total received has
  been 8.43 inches near Lawton. The heaviest swath of rain stretches
  from Keeler through Decatur and Lawton to near Kalamazoo. The
  heavy rain that has fallen has caused flooding, which will
  continue into tonight and potentially Monday. Therefore, the Flood
  Warning has been extended through the day on Monday. Smaller
  creeks and streams are out of their banks and will continue to be
  into Monday. Larger rivers will see rises for at least a couple of

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Kalamazoo, Portage, Albion, Marshall, South Haven, Paw Paw, Van
  Buren SP, Westwood, Battle Creek, Vicksburg, Hartford, Galesburg,
  Mattawan, Lawton, Bangor, Decatur, Homer, Union City, Schoolcraft
  and Climax.


Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
