BROAD BAND OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MAINLY NORTH OF THE SAMOAN
ISLANDS. CURRENT MODEL DATA SHOW THIS BAND...THAT IS ENHANCED PRIMARILY
BY A MID LEVEL TROUGH...MIGRATING SOUTHWARD THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
HENCE...WILL KEEP THE LIKELIHOOD OF THUNDERSTORMS IN THE FORECAST
WITH NUMEROUS SHOWERS TONIGHT...THEN SHOWING A DRYING
TREND THEREAFTER.

MODERATE EASTERLIES WILL PREVAIL ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA THROUGH
MIDWEEK AS A STRONG HIGH PRESSURE NEAR NEW ZEALAND REMAIN NEARLY
STATIONARY. BY THURSDAY...THE MONSOON TROUGH TO THE SOUTH OF THE
SAMOAN ISLANDS WILL INTENSIFY AND BLOCK THE STRONG PERSISTENT
WINDS FAR SOUTH...AND WINDS WILL BECOME MORE LIGHT AND VARIABLE.
